Redistricting Public Hearings
Did you know that elections are only half the battle? At least as important is the question of who gets to vote for which candidates. What if most of the Republican voters were only allowed to vote for a few legislative candidates, and most of the Democrat voters were allowed to vote for many more?
The answer is, it would be a lot harder for Republicans to win. And that’s exactly what was done to us in 2001. Democrats tilted the playing field in their favor by means of a process called redistricting.
But now it’s time for the next redistricting. We need to act now to make sure the process is fair. You can help by attending public hearings. If you come and give informed testimony about what you, as a voter, want to see in legislative districts, it will help make sure the districts aren’t biased toward Democrats. Here’s a schedule of meetings:
