PACHYDERM

April 2, 2010

Our speakers this Friday, April 2, will be MT State Senator Bruce Tutvedt joined by MT State Representative John Sinrud in giving an update on the redistricting mandated by the Montana constitution.

Every 10 years the reapportionment commission meets to set the House and Senate districts across Montana. In the last redistricting effort the Democrats were able to gerrymander the districts in a way that gave the Democrats 4-5 more house seats than they would have been able to under a fair system. The speech will help Republicans with their talking points for the April 12th public hearing on redistricting, via video conference from Flathead Valley Community College.

As usual, the Pachyderms meet in Ballroom A at the Red Lion Inn, adjacent to the Kalispell Center Mall. The meetings are open to the public. They begin promptly at 12:05pm and end at 1:00pm. The room is open by 11:30 for those who like to arrive early.

Lunch is available from a limited menu, $10 or less, but is not required. Beverages are separate. We are requested to pay by cash or by check.

We hope you will join us and bring a friend. Remember TGIF! (Think GOP, It’s Friday!)
